New services in the works and the addition of a ‘client’ membership category are set to bring about a much needed balance to the bmedi@ membership and with it improved commercial benefits that would otherwise not be possible.
The changes, arguably the biggest since incorporation in 2002, will see the six year old network build on its reputation for being a functional organization that delivers tangible benefits to it’s membership.
bmedi@, already recognized as one of the fastest growing creative and new media professional networks of its kind, will have its work cut out if it is to continue to be financially self-sustaining one year on from the expiry of seed funding from Yorkshire Forward. Nick Burton, bmedi@ chair comments: “As a founding director I have lived and breathed bmedi@ for many years. The passion that runs throughout the team and membership undoubtedly helped us through the transition from a funded ‘project’ to a self-sustaining enterprise”.
“The board and executive team know all too well that the continued success of bmedi@ will rely solely on the teams ability to deliver relevant and tangible benefits from an expanding range of key services to the people that need them the most and as a member myself it goes without saying that I am most certainly all for it”, concludes Nick.
The new services, which will be rolled out in the coming weeks and months, are the result of lessons learned during the transition period and an internal review that considered feedback from all quarters. Steve Ding, bmedi@ CEO said: “Being a funded project is certainly easier than having to stand on your own two feet. Lessons have been learnt over the past twelve months. I think that bmedi@’s efforts to be functional from the outset certainly stood us in good stead during the transition.”
When asked about the changes on the horizon Steve added: “Having listened to members we have realised that there is much more that we can be doing and many more ways that we can add value. The services we are working on are those that we think will be most timely and important to the growth of our members”.
“Our decision to add a new category to our membership for ‘clients’ seemed an obvious one. Collectively they have delivered £500K of revenue to the membership and by bringing them even closer to bmedi@ we believe that the membership will be able to help them much more with the resulting benefits being felt by all” explained Steve.
